February 25, 1933 ~ September 10, 2020 (age 87)

Obituary

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." ....... 2 Timothy 4:7

Billie Faye Harrison Adair was born on Fevruary 25, 1933 in the East Caney Community in Hopkins County, the first of twelve children born to Emma Lou Williams Harrison and Billy T. Harrison.

Billie Faye attended Saint Paul High School in Neylandville, Texas.  Being the oldest of twelve, she enjoyed helping her parents raise her siblings and nieces and nephews.  Bille Faye accepted Christ at a young age, she was a member of Bethel Temple COGIC for many years holding several office positions and was part of several of the church's organizations.  She later moved her membership to the Pentecostal Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, where she was recognized as the church mother.

Billie Faye married John L. Adair on February 12, 1955; they were married for 54 years before he preceded her in death in 2009.

Billie Faye retired from East Texas State University where she worked in the Housing Department, where she connected with several students that became a part of her family.

Billie Faye was a true woman of God, who always presented herself as a virtuous woman.  She loved God and Gog's word, though she was a gentle and humble woman, she was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all of her many years of faithful praying has had on our family.  She lived a life of righteousness, yet was merciful and forgiving, she knew the bible, and the word of God was hidden in her heart.  She would say "It behooves us to get right and go on with the Lord."

Billie Faye leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter Carolyn Turner (Lafayette); six sisters Dora M. Harrison Pannell, Emma J. Harrison Martin, Linda Harrison Parker (Ray), LaWanda "Cookie" Harrison McCowan (Winston), Nelda Harrison and Janice Harrison; three brothers William "Bob" Harrison (Orthesia), Leon Harrison (Loretta), and Leonard "Papa" Harrison.  She also leaves grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, great-great nieces, and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy T. and Emma Lou Harrison, her husband John L. Adair, her brother Aubrey "Stick" Harrison and her grandson Waylon Carrington.
