Deacon Willie Lee Finney, 82, of Honey Grove, died on Friday, June 29, 2018 in Honey Grove.

Deacon Finney was born on June 12, 1936, in the Dial Community in Fannin County, to Horace Lee Finney and Allie Mae Wade Finney.

He met and married Fessie Lee Rhymes and to that union was born 8 children. He then met and married Doris Relford who preceded him in death.

Deacon Finney united with St. James Baptist Church at a very young age and was ordained as deacon by Rev. Lynwood. He served in the choir and on deacon board until his health began to prevent his attendance.

Deacon Finney worked as a mechanic and was employed by D&E Automotive for many years.

Left to cherish his memories are four daughters: Rose Sims (Robert), Annette Judkins (Fred), Jo Ann Finney and Allien Brown (Jerald); his three sons: Arthur Finney (Liz), Bennette Finney and Kim Finney (Donna); step daughter Delois Relford; four step sons: Benny Relford, Bobby Relford, Anthony Relford and Billy Relford; sisters: Princella Jones (Willie Charles), Hattie Mae Terrell (William) and Allien Sanders (Roy); 26 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Melissa Finney and mother of his children Fessie Finney.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife Doris Finney, son Brian Keith Finney, step sons: Henry Relford, Jeffrey Relford and Richard Relford; sister Bobbie Jean Dunn; brothers Clarence Finney and Louie Ray Finney.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 6, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M at Jones -Walker & Son Funeral Home.

Service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at St. James Baptist Church in Honey Grove with Rev. Kathryn Cooper officiating and Rev. Roy McConnell eulogist. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Honey Grove.

Serving as pallbearers will be Devorous Finney, Terren Judkins, Arthur Finney Jr., Kevin Finney, Kendrick Finney and Kim Finney Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnnie Glen Jones, Byron Finney, Cortland Finney, Stan Stevenson, Cedric Stevenson and Markeus Finney
