William "Bill" Voiers, of Commerce, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, April 27, 2025. He was born on March 3, 1933 in Warren County Ohio; the son of Charley Voiers and Edith Milner Voiers. Bill graduated from High School in 1951 and entered the Navy in 1952. He served for four years in the Navy and four more years in the Navy Reserves. While in the Navy, he served on the USS Bennington CVA20 and on the USS Ticonderoga CVA14. Following his time in the service, he went back to work at a Power Plant for 10 years (1956-1966) and then he began working at Rockwell Collins Electronics Company, where he worked for 22 years before retiring in 1988. Bill enjoyed playing the guitar and doing wood carving for his pastimes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Joann Harting. Those who survive him are his wife Carolyn Taylor and three sons: Mike Voiers, Mitchell Voiers, and Marvin Voiers and three daughters: (twins) Karen and Sharon Voiers and Jill Voiers.
Funeral Services for Bill Voiers will be held in the Jones-Walker Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Christopher Walden officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
