Viola "Mrs. V" Dugan, 93, of Commerce passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in Plano.
Viola was born in Como, Tx on July 3, 1924 to Fred Harper and Willie Finnie Harper. She met and married Alonzo Dugan. She was member of Griffith Chapel Methodist Church in Commerce, TX.
Viola worked and retired from East Texas State University (Texas A&M Commerce) in the janitorial services department. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing and just sitting under the shade tree.
Those left behind to treasure the memories of Mrs. Viola include her son Larry Dugan of Commerce, three daughters: Linda Love of Wichita, Kansas, Brenda Harris of Commerce, and Ava Dugan of Commerce. Other survivors include 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Monty Dugan, a grandson, Courtney Dugan, a granddaughter, Patsy Burley, three great grandsons: Jaden Dugan, Javen Dugan, and Logan Dugan; a sister, Jimmye Lee Savage, and three brothers: Billie Ray Finnie, Ira C. Nash, and Eugene Taylor.
Service times are set for Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, 1709 Hwy. 24, Commerce, with Rev. Katrina Trotman officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018, from 9:00 A.M until 4:00 P.M at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
Serving as pallbearers will be Clifton Blair, Adrian Burley, Tony Henry, Tyrone Hines, David Pannell, Tony Pannell, and Billy Relford.
