Vernon Ray Guthrie

Vernon Ray Guthrie, 84, of Irving, passed away at his home on Monday, February 24, 2014.

Ray was born in Commerce, on November 26, 1929, to Frank and Lula Guthrie. He graduated from Commerce High School; and, in 1947, he married Wilma Faye Hamlin.

Ray served his country in the United States Army.

Ray was a proud charter member of the Lone Star Region Vintage Chevrolet Club of America; a member of the Dallas Ford Model A Club; and, a member of the Early V-8 Club.

Survivors include his daughter, Kaye Citzler; and, his son-in-law, Mark, of Flower Mound.

He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.

Private interment services with Full Military Honors will be conducted on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Rosemound Cemetery with Bro. Terry Bryan officiating.
