Timothy George Harrison

Timothy "Tim" George Harrison, 63, of Cumby and formerly of Commerce, passed away early Friday morning May 1, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Timothy "Tim" George Harrison was born on July 13, 1956. He went to sleep and returned to Jehovah's memory on May 1, 2020.  He is preceded in death by one son, Micheal, both sets of grandparents, both parents, and two brothers.

He is survived by his one and only love, his wife, Mary, daughter Michelle (Celso), son John (Chanty) and four granddaughters: Jo'Anna, Estrella, Dixie, and Mary Eliza, (all of whom loved their Papa very much). Also a lifelong best friend and hunting partner Joe Matlock, as well as extended family.

Tim was a family man, he loved one woman and his kids. He loved to fish and hunt and go pool-hopping with his wife. He enjoyed fishing and playing with his granddaughters and taking them to buy toys. He also loved shooting guns with his sons. Tim worked at Commerce Housing Authority until his retirement in 2003. After his retirement he became more involved in his family. People saw him as disabled but he still worked. He helped build his daughter's house and was in the process of building his own but was unable to finish. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Special thanks to Jordan Health Services for sixteen years of your help and services. And to Nurse Kayla, what would our family have done without you? Thank you for all you did for our daddy and momma's big oak tree.

A private family burial was held by the immediate family.

Guestbook

It has been a year and still seems like yesterday. I hear Tim's voice every day and am so thankful he has always been and continues to be a part of my life. Love him forever still.

Tim was a gentle giant. When we were younger, I was the "Mutt" to his "Jeff". He always had the biggest heart and one of the most gentlest of people you could know. He could be a little ornery. When he was younger he loved to fish and he loved his cars. I wasn't around him much as adults. He was a fighter. Talking to him, his love and pride for his family was always evident. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Uncle Tim was and is a fighter physically and spiritually! He loved his granddaughters, nieces/nephews, and great nieces/nephews very much. He spoiled us all! He was in that chair but that didn't stop him from doing what he put his mind to. He will be very missed.
