Susie Gooden

Susie R. Gooden was born July 26, 1926, in England Arkansas, to Jeanie and Nora Lee, who proceded her in death. She was the first of two children, and at the time of her death, she is proceded by husbands.

Susie was educated in the England Arkansas school district. In 1956, Susie relocated her family to Pasadena California. After a year she moved to Pacoima CA., where she and her family stayed for about 25 years. While in Pacoima Susie worked for Los Angeles school district. Susie relocated back to College Station AR. where she worked for University Hospital. About 30 years later, she moved to Telephone TX. to live with her children James & Joyce Rucker and JR. Murphy until her death. Susie was a member of Fannin County Wide Mission. Susie was a member of St. James Baptist Church, and, one of the mothers of the church. Susie was the mother of thirteen children and three proceded her in death, Norakeith Rucker, Sharon Rucker, and Mark Murphy.

Survivors to cherish her memories are two (2) daughters: Ray (Charles) Butler of Palmdale, CA. and Cheryl Murphy of Landcaster CA.. Eight sons: Adib Hassian (Zarinah) Omar of Frisco TX., James (Joyce) Rucker of Telephone Tx., Ronnye (Kathy) Rucker of Pacioma Ca., E. Dwight (Cheryl) Rucker of Pen Rose CO., Richard (Diane) Murphy of Santa Clarita CA., Howard Carl Murphy Jr. of Telephone TX., Dexter (Charmaine) Murphy of Loma Linda CA., and Daryl (Darlene) Murphy of Palmdale CA., 28 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 7 great great- grandchildren. Two (2) God sons: Greg Coleman of Arlington, TX. Ricky Bell, of Phoenix Az., and 1 God daughter: Brenda Dennis of Arlington TX., special friends: Inez Steward of Little Rock, AR., Nancy Burton of Honey Grove TX., and Connie Green of Los Angeles CA.,and a host of friends and relatives.

Visitation will be conducted on Friday, August 28, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. James Baptist Church, 700 E. Scott St. Honey Grove, Texas.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Baptist Church, in Honey Grove. Rev. David Moore will officiate.

Pallbearers will be the men of St. James Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be Susie's grandsons.

Burial will follow at St. Mark Cemetery, in Windom, Texas.

Interment service follows church services
