Sue Harris

Sue Harris, 72, died at Oak Manor Nursing Home on February 23, 2009, of complications from cancer. She is survived by her husband, John; two sons, James and Larry; and, a brother David.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John.

Sue graduated from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and the Juilliard School in New York City. She taught piano, worked as a secretary and performed as a church organist.

Sue loved to travel and she possessed an impressive memory for names, places and foreign languages. Her travels included several foreign countries; many areas in the United States; and, with her her husband John, she planned more travel for periods between cancer treatments.

She loved concerts by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra; and, she found fulfillment at art museums. She had a remarkable ability to live a full life without allowing cancer to diminish her joy of living.

Sue was a wonderful wife and mother who will be missed by her family, relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held, Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church of Commerce at 3:00 P.M.
