Sheila Borchardt Solis, affectionately known as “Smiley,” was born on April 7, 1969, in Garland, Texas. She passed on March 5, 2026, in Plano, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, joy, and cherished memories.
Sheila was a devoted mother to her three sons, Jacob Solis, Zachary Solis, and Albin Laubscher, who, alongside his wife Meghan, carries forward her spirit. Her grandchildren, Karlie and Kolt Solis, were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Sheila’s love extended to her parents, Vickie Cummings Borchardt and Danny Borchardt, as well as her sister, Tonya Borchardt. She is also survived by her nephew, Allan Wright; her nieces, Megan Wright and Shelby Yates, who is married to Cameron Yates; and her great-niece, Lillian Yates.
A remarkable woman, Sheila was known for her infectious smile and a personality that drew people in. She had a passion for watching her favorite television shows, cooking for her loved ones, and engaging in her favorite pastime activities, including karaoke and dancing. Those who knew her appreciated her zest for life and the joy she brought to every gathering.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Sheila's life. A visitation will be held on March 12, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jones - Walker & Son Funeral Home located at 1209 Live Oak, Commerce, Texas, 75428. The following day, March 13, 2026, a graveside service will commence at 1:00 PM at South Sulphur Cemetery, located on FM 118, South Sulphur Community, Texas, 75401.
Sheila is also remembered fondly by her special friends, Stephanie Booth, Sharla Wolf McKee, and Blenda Walter, who will carry her memory in their hearts.
As the family navigates this profound loss, they take comfort in the many joyful memories created with Sheila, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her spirit will continue to shine through the lives of those she touched.
