Sara Grace Pullen

Sara Grace Reynolds Pullen, age 94, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. She was born September 6, 1924 in Winchester, Tennessee to the late A.N. Reynolds and Kittie Thompson Reynolds. She attended the University of Tennessee.

Sara Grace Pullen received the Honorary Life Membership pin presented by the Presbyterian Women of FPC-Commerce on May 26, 2013. Incorporated into the design of this pin are hands, a leaf, a dove, a globe, a cross and a butterfly. The “hands” represent the caring support of Presbyterian Women. The leaf represents growth of our personal and corporate response to Jesus Christ as we nurture our faith. The dove indicates our work for peace in our own lives and throughout the world, shown in the globe. At the center of the design is the cross, by which our sins are forgiven and we are freed to live in Christ, who is the center of our lives. The overall design is of a butterfly, the symbol of newness in Christ.

“Through the years, Sara Grace actively participated in the life of the congregation. Besides her faithful church attendance, she was especially helpful in decorating for the December Christmas Cantata receptions each year. Sara Grace had a special flair for decorating the serving table and added her special “touch” to the fellowship hall for the Christmas season.“Her unique contribution to the “Harvest of Plenty” Fall Festival which was an annual event in the past, added variety to the success of those church fundraisers. She used her artistic talents in many ways, decorating pillows and other household linens by incorporating crochet and embroidery on them as a finishing touch.”

Sara is survived by sons: Kevin Pullen and Mark Pullen of Commerce, Texas, nephews: James E. Reynolds of Winchester, Tennessee and David Reynolds of Lancaster, Kentucky and 3 granddaughters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Miller Pullen, brothers: Robert A. Reynolds, James Harold Reynolds and Wilson Reynolds and nephews: Robert A. (Bob) Reynolds and William A. (Buster) Reynolds.
