Sandra Lee Blevins

January 13, 1946 — September 18, 2010

Sandra Lee Blevins

Sandra Lee Blevins of Quinlan, formerly of Greenville and Rockwall, joined her Daddy, husband, brother, sister, and her beloved dog, Lou Lou, in Heaven on September 18, 2010.

Sandra was born on a Friday, January 13, 1946 in Victoria, Texas. She was superstitious and really didn't appreciate that whole Friday the 13th thing.

Mom enjoyed long walks at Wal-Mart or any store for that matter, and supported QVC for many years. There wasn't a puzzle she couldn't finish in record time, a question she couldn't answer on Jeopardy and she always solved the bonus round on Wheel of Fortune before any contestant could. She enjoyed great conversation with her coffee, mostly with Uncle Glenn and it had better been Folgers.

Mom was a dedicated mother, sister, aunt, daughter and wife as well as a substitute mother for any child, small or big in need. She welcomed anyone into her home that was cold, tired or hungry without question or judgment. She loved to play scrabble (and always won) and she had many fond memories of sitting on her front porch and drinking her coffee with Miss Lynn, Sue and Stanley.

She is preceded in death by her father Vernon Scales, husband Stephen L. Blevins, a brother, Glenn Graham, and a sister Margaret Smith.

She is survived by her mother Lillian Brown of Mesquite, Tx., children Lisa Blevins of Rowlett, Tx., Debbie Barrick of Hereford, Tx., Cynthia Wyatt and husband Robert of Quinlan, Tx., Stephen Blevins of Hereford, Tx., and John Scott Blevins of Hereford, Tx. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren Austin Barrick, Danny Barrick, Hayden Jacobs, Zachary Keeling, Dillon Keeling, Mary Wyatt, Stephen Jack Wyatt, and Madeline Wyatt, sister in-law Peggy Graham as well as many nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Commerce, TX.

In lieu of usual remembrances, please make a donation to The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, FISH Ministries of Greenville or a charity of your choice.
