Richard (Rick) Poston, born July 19, 1946, passed away on December 25, 2025, at his home in Crosby Texas.

Rick attended high school in Commerce Texas, graduating in 1964. In 1965 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. Rick married Teddie Ferrell in 1966. After the Marine Corps, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree at East Texas State University.

Rick was active in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Paris City Council, Paris Economic Development, Red River Valley Fair Association, Marine Corps League, and the American Legion. He was a member of the Chili Appreciation Society International, placing seventh in the Terlingua International Chili Championship.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, gold panning, golf, birding, archeology and traveling.

Rick is survived by his wife Teddie, his daughter Cris, his son-in-law Gregg, several nieces, nephews, Aunt Betty, cousins and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Frances Poston and father and mother-in-law Grady and Cecile Ferrell.

A celebration of his life will be held January 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Jones – Walker and Son Funeral Home’s chapel, 1209 Live Oak St, Commerce, Texas 75428. Reverend Mike Tunnell will officiate the service.
