Renee Michele Morris

Reneé Michele Morris, 53, of Commerce, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 24, 2017. She was born on January 17, 1964, in Danbury, Connecticut to Donald B. and Mary Morris.

Reneé graduated from Greenville High School and East Texas State University (now Texas A&M Commerce) with Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. Reneé worked for several different school districts and touched the hearts of all of her students through teaching and coaching.

Reneé is survived by her parents; brother, Donald E. Morris of Commerce and sisters, Kathleen DeCapita and husband Joseph M. of Nassau, NY, and Sharon Morris Spillers and husband Robert of Cumby; aunt, Diane Finlay and husband Jim of Rensselaer, NY; nephews, Joseph R. DeCapita, Brandon DeCapita, Donny Morris and Nathan Spillers; nieces, Casey Morris and Sydney Spillers; several great nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; special friends Lori Davis and Toby.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jones-Walker & Son. Following the visitation will be a memorial service from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Hunt County Special Olympics in honor of Renee Morris, c/o Sue Porter, 2840 Windy Drive, Commerce, Texas 75428.
