Michelle passed away unexpectedly on February 12, surrounded by her son and friends. She had been recovering from a severe asthma attack and pneumonia, there were plans in place for bringing her home when the call came that she had suffered a major heart attack and had developed a large tear in her aorta. Her untimely passing left a huge hole in many lives, none more than her son and best friend Michael.
Michelle lived a lot of life in her short 46 years, she had many varying interests and hobbies. She had worked with the carnival and also had many various jobs. Her last full time job was caring for her dad James with his health issues before he passed away this past October. She loved crafting and coloring. She had taken up making phone and purse charms and keychains and was planning to start a small business doing that. She was enjoying the challenge of inventing new designs and ways to put things together in custom ways for people. She was proud of the new chapter of life she was getting started on after losing her dad. She was passionate about her nails. Always having them painted and themed for holidays and special occasions. Her nails were a common theme in the memories of many. She loved movies and music, her dogs, and her people. She loved Harley Quinn and Hello Kitty, and collecting purses. So many favorites of hers, like roses and country music, pandas, talking with friends and going to the local festival together. She loved making picture collages for her friends and family, she would make them for holidays and birthdays and to make people feel special. There are so many memories shared with so many people, she touched so many lives in various ways. For a small person she lived a big life with a big personality. She always joked that she was the nicest mean person you'd ever want to meet. She had a Huge heart, but was always very outspoken.
She was an active advocate for those in addiction recovery, as she was very open about her own journey of recovery. At the time of her passing she had been sober for 3025 days, or over 8 years. She was proud of the work she put in to get there and stay there, and yet humble enough to know she still had to take things day by day. With this knowledge she was able to talk to many people helping them on their journey through her Facebook pages and various contacts.
She is survived by her son Michael Weir, her brother Jason Phelps (Jessica), and many other friends and relatives as well as her beloved dog Daisy.
She was proceeded in death by her mom Carol Phelps, her Dad James Phelps, her stepmother Chip Phelps, other relatives and beloved dogs. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday May 23, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Bread of Life Church of the Nazarene.
