Matthew Allen Brooks

Matthew Allen Brooks, born on January 28, 1981, in Mayfield, Kentucky, left this world on May 30, 2025, in Commerce, Texas. As we gather to celebrate his life, we remember a remarkable individual whose love for his family and community resonated in all he did.

Matthew dedicated his career to being an electrical contractor, a profession that showcased not only his skills and determination but also his refusal to let any physical disability impede his aspirations. His proudest accomplishment was his unwavering resolve to embrace life fully and inspire those around him.

His loyalty and passion as a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns were well-known amongst friends and family. Matthew’s spirited enthusiasm for these teams brought people together, sparking countless conversations and memories that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

Education was important to Matthew, and after high school, he pursued his studies at Paris Junior College and East Texas A&M Commerce, where his love for learning flourished alongside his dedication to his craft. These experiences only enriched his life, providing a strong foundation upon which he built his values. He was also a creative writer and had written books.

Matthew was the beloved son of Terry Clark and Karen Brooks Clark, and he cherished the bond he shared with his siblings. He is survived by his brother Joseph Clark and sister-in-law Emmavi De Luna, along with his sister Dianna Holt and brother-in-law Nathaniel Maynard. His family extended further to embrace his treasured nephews: Kayden Cummings and Morgan Holt, his niece Ember Clark, and his nephew Jonin Clark. Additionally, he was a doting great-uncle to Kysen Clark.

Matthew was also blessed to have the loving presence of his grandmother, Mary Etta Jackson, who undoubtedly immortalized wisdom and warmth into his life. He leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold his spirit close to their hearts.

Matthew Allen Brooks was a shining light in the lives of many. His kindness, affection for family and friends, and zest for life will be deeply missed. Though he left us too soon, his memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who carry the privilege of having known him. Matthew’s legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared.
