Mary Carolyn Scarborough, 82, of Ladonia, Tx passed away on Wednesday afternoon at Hunt Regional Medical Center of Greenville, Tx.
Mary Carolyn Broyles Scarborough born December 24, 1942 in Little Rock AR to John Ben and Geraldine Hughes Broyles. Mary and her family moved to Ladonia in 1959 where she met her love…her husband Ronald Dale “RD” Scarborough. They were married on October 1, 1960. She accepted Christ as her savior as a teenager and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ladonia. Mary was a beautician for years before going back to school with her sister Linda to become a teacher. She was a gifted teacher with a career of 40 + years that was spread over several school districts including Fannindel, Pittsburg, Dodd City, Dallas, and Wolfe City. She loved kids…she treated them all like they were her own…with love, patience and respect as was acknowledged by all the messages the family has received. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband RD, her brothers John Jr and George and sisters Shirley and Rachel. Survived by her CHILDREN Vickie Scarborough Cheney and husband Darron of Bug Tussle Leigh Ann Jones and husband Noel of McMinnville OR and son John Bryan Scarborough of Ladonia GRANDCHILDREN Jennifer Rhodes Speulda and husband Michael, of Charleston Tx, Jimmy Dale Rhodes and wife Kristina of Ladonia Tx, Christen Rhodes of Commerce Tx, Joshua Rhodes and wife Elissa of Ladonia Tx, Jazmine Jones of McMinnville Or, Hunter Scarborough and Lari of Ladonia, Tx, and Brooklyn Young of Bagota TxGREAT GRANDCHILDREN Kelton, Jaxon, Dusty, Cassius, Linda Beth, Ainsley, Cydnee, Xami, Zella, Donna Sue, Jaeda, Spencer, Mary Alice, CJ and LJAlso survived by her sisters Norma Shreiber, Sandra Dickens, Linda Reichle, and brothers Charles Broyles and Claud Ridgway. A Memorial Service will be held for Mrs. Scarborough on Saturday December 6, 2025 at the Fannindel Elementary School gymnasium in Pecan Gap, Tx. on FM 904. Visitation will be from 12:30 am until 1:30 pm and the funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm.
