Luther Tilman Burns

Luther Tilman Burns, 89, of Richardson - formerly of Commerce - passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014, in Sherman, Texas.

Luther was born in Hopkins County on April 11, 1925, to Lula Mitchell Burns and Neal Edward (Buster) Burns.

Survivors include two sisters: Billie Ruth Tunnell of Richardson and Betty Lou Hobbs of Richardson; and, his stepson, Mike Davis and his wife Theresa of Sherman. Also left to treasure his memories are his many nephews and nieces whom he dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Metheney Burns; his five brothers: Truitt, Taylor, Bobby, Robby and Tommy Joe; his sister, Cecile Ferrell; and, his parents.

Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday, December 22, 2014, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 22, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Neal officiating.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Ferrell, James Hobbs, Steve Tunnell, Danny Williams, Don Ferrell, Gary Don Ferrell and Mark Burns.

Interment will follow in Ridgeway Cemetery in Hopkins County.
