Latreia Cannon, born Latreia Duvall on March 14, 1961, in Commerce, Texas, departed this life on July 17, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family at her residence in her beloved hometown. Her passing leaves a gentle ache in the hearts of all who knew her, as we remember a woman whose presence brightened the lives of so many.
Latreia was known for her sociable nature; she found joy in connecting with others and had a gift for bringing people together. From childhood through her adult years, her laughter and voice could often be heard singing, filling rooms with happiness and comfort. She took immense pride in creating a welcoming home—her skills in housekeeping were matched only by the vibrant beauty of her yard, lovingly tended by her green thumb. Friends and family would often marvel at how every plant seemed to flourish under her care, much like the relationships and communities she nurtured throughout her life.
Latreia’s dedication to her family was unwavering. She was the cherished daughter of Billie Duvall, who survives her, and the late Arthur Duvall. Her legacy lives on in her loving children: her daughter Tiffany Ozuna and her husband Jorge, son Jeremy Preas and his wife Lauren, as well as her grandchildren—Kobe Ozuna, Braylon Ozune, Naylee Ozuna, Elianna Ozuna, and Olivia Ozuna—each of whom brought immense joy to her days and pride to her heart.
She is also survived by brothers, Terry Landers, Chris Duvall, and Rowdy Duvall. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of other beloved family members and friends, each of whom holds special memories of time spent with her.
In addition to her father, Latreia was preceded in death by her sister, Laweitta Young, whose memory remained forever cherished by Latreia and the rest of the family.
Latreia’s life was further enriched by her simple passions: singing with joy, nurturing the life all around her in her home and garden, and filling every room with uplift and care. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit and warmth remain with those who loved her dearly.
As her family, friends, and community mourn her loss, they find solace in the indelible mark she left upon each heart—an enduring legacy of love, care, and joy.
