Lakisha Lasha Finney

Lakisha Finney of Honey Grove passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017.

Lakisha was born in Sherman, Texas, on October 7, 1976, to Theresa Finney Shaw and Willie Shaw. She was a CNA at the VA Hospital in Bonham. She was a member of Christian Chapel CME in Honey Grove.

Lakisha met no strangers in her life. She was always the "life of the party." Her unforgettable laugh would stay with you for days. Lakisha was a fighter and beat cancer in 2016. Her family meant the world to her and she loved all the family gatherings.

Survivors include her two daughters: Desiray and A'zyre Finney, her sister, Renishia Finney Person, her brother, Dennis Finney, her parents Theresa and Willie Shaw, her grandmother, Ruby Daniels and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, J.W. Daniels and her great-grandparents, Lowney V. Finney and L.C. Finney.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Honey Grove High School Gymnasium. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Honey Grove with Rev. Esther F. Lawson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Cedrick Stevenson, Geroin LeShaw, Glen Frazier, Chris Redd, Ronald Bateman and Rodney Bateman.

Honorary pallbearers will be, HGHS Class of 1995, Dennis Finney, Rodney Finney, Robert Finney, Willie Lewis and Steve Finney.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce.

Interment service follows funeral service.
