Kevin Craig Wingfield, 28, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 6, 2013.
Kevin was born in Sulphur Springs on December 29, 1984. He graduated from Commerce High School where football and baseball were his passions. After high school, Kevin graduated from the Police Academy with honors in 2006; and, law enforcement became his life's career.
Kevin was a dedicated father, son, brother, and friend. He was an inspiration to everyone with whom he came in contact.
Kevin was a member of Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie. He was employed at Delta County Sheriff's Department as a Dispatch Officer, Transport Officer, and as a Reserve Deputy. He was also a former volunteer with the Commerce Emergency Corps and a volunteer with the Tira Fire Dept.
Kevin is survived by his son, Steven Michael Wingfield of Palestine; his parents: Tracy and Linda Lunceford of Commerce and Kevin and Jennifer Wingfield of Forney; his brothers: Cody Wingfield of Commerce, Tyler Lambrieht, Peyton and Klayton Wingfield all of Forney; his sisters: Payge Wingfield of Forney and Misty Baysinger of Greenville; his grandparents: Clara and Bill Ross of Wills Point, Betty Smith of Cumby and Janie Lunceford of Commerce; his four nieces; his fiance, Jennifer Mason and her son John Robert Mason; and, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Hall; and, his grandfathers: Charles Wingfield, JT Hauerwas and Jackie Lunceford.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie with Bro. Oliver Mowat officiating.
Burial will follow in Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
