Juanita Moore

October 27, 1934 — October 11, 2025

Honey Grove, TX

Juanita Moore, 90, of Honey Grove passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Jaunita (Neat) was born on October 27, 1934, in Honey Grove to Gladys Finney and Henry Hopkins.  She was married to LD Moore (Frog) for almost 40 years.  She was known as Neat or Frog's wife.  She got the name Neat because she was so organized and always had things in order.  They had many friends.

The place to be at was the Moor's house on Christmas Eve.  People came from far and near to be there, and it would last until 3 or 4 in the morning. Then she would go to her sister's house and play Santa Claus bagging up toys and drinking the milk and eating the cookies with her cousin Princella.  She didn't have children but loved them and enjoyed babysitting.  She loved to cook, and everybody loved her pies, so she began selling them.  After 30 years of pastry, she accepted Christ in her life and began to work in the church as kitchen help, usher, trustee and stewardess.  She loved the Lord and her church.  She still had friends come by even though she wasn't partying anymore.  Some of them said if you can change, I can too.  That encouraged her to keep pressing on.

Neat is survived by her Godson Joshua "Zeke" Woods of Honey Grove, sister Ruthie Brigham of Honey Grove, nephews: Robert Jackson (Sandra) of Longview, Bradley Brigham of Commerce, Kurt Burks (Michelle) of Paris and Douglas Adkins of Dallas; nieces: Juanita Harbin (Jerry) of Houston, Alantionna Brigham of Paris and Azia Brigham of Commerce.  She is also survived by many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ruby Nell Person, a brother Artie McNeal, niece Betty Burks and nephew Artie Adkins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Christian Chapel C.M.E. Church in Honey Grove at 1:00 P.M. with Rev Shawn Bronson eulogist. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
