Johnny Ray Nabers, 72, of Cumby, passed away April 10, 2024. Johnny was born November 18, 1951, in Commerce, to JL Nabers and Jimmie Moore. He was a Barber and worked for the railroad before joining UPS. There, he retired after 30 years and made many life long friends. Most importantly, Johnny was a Dad and a Peepaw. He did that job best.
Johnny loved helping others and participated in many fundraisers and motorcycle toy runs, some of which he provided the food for, cooking barbecue or his first place award winning chili. He will be remembered most for his generosity and his one- of- a kind sense of humor.
He is survived by his son, Justin Nabers and wife Robin. Grandchildren, Taylor Kenney and husband Adam, Landon Nabers and fiance Sydney, Hannah Valentine and husband RJ. Great Grandchildren, Alexis and Hadlee Kenney and Wyatt and West Nabers. Other survivors include his brother Jack Nabers and sister Jean Ann Scott.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held for Johnny on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Jones-Walker Funeral Chapel in Commerce, Tx. with Reverend C.J. Duffey officiating.
