Jerry Dale Parker, 86, of Cumby, Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, June 20, 2025.
Born in Reklaw, Texas, to the late Walter Eldridge Parker and Flora May (Cox) Parker , Jerry lived a life marked by deep perseverance, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He was a man of remarkable resolve — determined to the point of stubbornness — and fiercely committed to the things he believed in. That spirit shaped every part of his life and left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
Jerry honorably served in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class (A1C, E-3), working as a jet engine mechanic. Despite his rank, his extensive knowledge and hands-on skill led him to train those ranked above him — a reflection of both his talent and the respect he earned among his peers.
Following his service, Jerry pursued higher education and earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from East Texas State University Of Commerce. A skilled carpenter and relentless entrepreneur, Jerry applied his work ethic to every endeavor, building a life with his own hands and mind — steady, precise, and filled with purpose.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce Laqueta (Johnson) Parker; his sons, Rory Glen Parker and Russel Lynn Parker; his daughter-in-law, Lupita Yvonne (Tijerina) Parker; and his grandchildren: Miles Arron Parker and his wife Janie Annete (Reyes) Parker, Ariel Lauren (Huckabee) Parker and her husband Tyler Davis Huckabee, Benjamin Rhys Parker, and Martin Angeles.
In later years, Jerry found joy in gardening, playing cards, and the steady challenge of managing business — always thinking ahead, always pushing forward. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Elijah Glen Parker, as well as his parents, Flora and Walter Parker, and his siblings: Benard Parker, Preston Parker, and Virginia Parker.
A graveside memorial will be held at 12:00 P.M. on June 23, 2025, at Cumby Cemetery, located at 275-203 N Williams St, Cumby, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life lived with tenacity, purpose, and love.
Jerry Dale Parker will be deeply missed, but the impact of his life and the strength of his spirit live on in those he leaves behind.
