James Lee Wilson

James Lee Wilson, 87, of Commerce passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014.

James was born in Hopkins County, Willow Oak Community on November, 1, 1926, to Coylee Dickey Wilson and John Henry Wilson. James proudly served in the United States Army. He was married to Ruth Moreland who preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sisters: Sally Millsap, Mereta McKay and her husband Carlos, Barbara Coffman, Linda Coffman, and, Melba McKnight; his brothers: Carrol Wayne and Kenneth Wilson; his sister-in-law, Pearl Wilson; Ruths daughter, Judy Mills and her husband Clovis; his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents, Coylee and John Wilson;his sisters: Ruth Hill, Mary Roland, Shirley Morgan, and Betty Moreland; his brother, Johnnie Wilson; Ruths children: Bobbie Moreland, Larry Moreland and Vicki Talley.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 12, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 13, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Shannon Moreland and Rick Hall officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jeff McKay, Jeff Moreland, Dewayne Miller, John Talley, Bruce McKay, Stephen Wilson and Anthony Kelly.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Michael Miller and Joe Gilley.

Interment with full military honors will follow at Horton Cemetery.

The Wilson family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Richard Selvaggi, Hunt Regional Healthcare Hospital of Commerce and to Oak Manor Nursing Facility for the tender care given to their brother James.
