Irene Marie Pickens

Irene Marie Pickens, 84, of Cumby passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012, in Cumby, Texas.

Irene was born in Idabel, Oklahoma, on July 31, 1927, to Joseph and Effie Jones. She was a retired Q.C. Inspector of Lee Manufacture.

She married Kyle Pickens in April, 1978. Irene enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys and Elvis Presley. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cumby, Texas.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, James and Wayne Blunt; her daughter, Christine Hallford; two grandsons, Brandon and Clayton Blunt; three granddaughters: Nikki Strain, Brittany Blunt and Ashley Young; two great-grandsons: Richard Grubbs and Cody Cox; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Blunt.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her four sisters: Opal, Hazel, Laverne and Letha.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January, 22, 2012, in Long Cemetery, Hopkins County, Texas.
