Hope Rachel McElyea

Hope Rachel (Smith) McElyea, 42, of Campbell passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in Campbell.

Rachel was born in Ravenna, OH, on June 16, 1970, to Shirley Ann Sweet and Donald Leroy Smith.

Rachel enjoyed animal sciences and playing board games with family and friends. She never met a stranger; for, once you crossed her path, you were her friend. She was also a gentle spirit that loved freely, was always loyal and her love was always unconditional

Survivors include her husband, Jeremy McElyea of Campbell; her two sons: Douglas Smith and Michael Smith; her mother, Shirley A. Simmons; her three brothers: Donald L. Smith Jr. and James Smith both of Akron, OH, and Kirk D. Smith; her sister, Barbara L. Anderson; her grandson, Jakob Snow; and, her granddaughter, Peyton Lattimer.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home. Committal services will be private.

The family has requested that in lieu of usual remembrances, donations be made to Shirley A. Simmons to help defray expenses.
