H. B. Jones was born in Bennington, OK, but considered himself a Texan from a young age. He picked cotton and was said to be the best and fastest picker around. He worked on the Goss Farm close to Honey Grove, danced on the square in Sulphur Springs for money to go to the movies. Later married and settled in Paris, Texas. He worked at Swift & Co. until the plant closed in the early 60's. He worked for the City trash pick-up, then at the Merico Plant until retirement age. then mowed yards for years.
He is survived by 4 children: Nancy Jones Rodgers and Susan Jones Rogers of Royse City, Texas; Leila Jones Boehler of Waxahachie, Texas; Barry Hugh Jones of Paris, Texas; and a step-son Joe Adams of Paris, Texas. Also ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren survive him.
There will be a private family memorial service conducted at a later date.
