Glenda Ann Ivie-McMahon

Glenda Ann Ivie-McMahon, age 58 of Cooper, Texas, beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend to many entered heaven, November 18, 2016, in Dallas, Texas. She was born November 20, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas.

To those who knew Glenda, they regarded her as strong, kind, giving and selfless, she taught all through example that no matter what life throws in one's path - faith, hope and love abide - and the greatest of these is love. Glenda earned a living the last eight years, as a waitress, manager and even a cook at times in the restaurants in the town she loved, Cooper. She never referred to it as work, for she enjoyed and truly cared for those she served. Her long time dream was to have her own restaurant, and in July of this year that dream was fulfilled. Although she has recently changed her residence to heaven. Death does not change everything. For her love lives on in each that knew and loved Glenda, and our family thanks each of you for letting Glenda's light continue to shine.
Survivors include her daughter, Gina Renee Witherspoon of Wilmer, Texas. Sister, Martha Carol Ivie of Cooper, Texas and sister in law, JoAnn Ivie of Frankston, Texas. Niece's ; Cheryl Ivie-Harper of Maydelle, Texas, Misty Shelton of McKinney, Texas, Amber Jones of Waxahachie, Texas. Nephews; Greg Ivie of Frankston, Texas, David Hood of Mt Vernon, Texas. 18 - great niece's and nephews and 3 - great great niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Radford and Daisy Lee Ivie. Brother, Hartwell Henry Ivie and sister, Lois Marie Ivie.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home, 1209 Live Oak St Commerce, Texas. A prayer and sharing of memories at 6 PM.
A private interment at Laurel Land Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.

Prayer and sharing of memories will begin at 6:00 p.m.
