Donna Ann Garwood, born Harris, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, at the age of 85. She was born on July 30, 1940, in Wellsville, New York, and lived a life devoted to her family and community.
Donna was primarily a stay-at-home mother, embracing the role with love and dedication as she raised her children. In addition to her nurturing role at home, she spent some time working as an assembly line worker in a factory, contributing to her family's well-being and exemplifying a strong work ethic.
Preceding her in death are her beloved husband, Ronald Garwood; her parents, Richard Harris and Dora Linesberry Harris; and her brother, Kenneth Garwood.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters, Crystal Wilson of Sulphur Springs, and Carol Boncek and her husband John of Slidell, Louisiana. Her sons, Frances Garwood and his wife Vickie of Greenville, Virgil Garwood and his wife Charlene of Wilson, North Carolina, Bruce Garwood and his wife Linda of Nunday, New York, and John Garwood and his wife Carla of Livonia, New York, will also remember her fondly.
Donna was a cherished grandmother to many, with her legacy living on through her grandchildren: Terry Garwood, Michael Wilson, Michelle Hinkle, Hope Sinclair, Holly Livingston, Kaitlyn Mayrell, Axel Garwood, Samantha Clifton, Madison Arnwine, Pam Brooklyn Arnwine, Gunner Pierce, Warren Rushing, Wayne Rushing, Amira Rushing, Christopher Rushing, Samantha Rushing, Dalton Garwood, Lincoln Garwood, Christian Garwood, and Carson Garwood.
Throughout her life, Donna embodied the values of kindness, resilience, and familial love. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived.
