Daryle Belcher died Monday, November 3, 2008, at his home in Commerce after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services in honor of Daryle will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 6, at the First Baptist Church of Commerce with the Reverend Johnnie Henderson officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, in Wolfe City under the direction of Jones -Walker & Son Funeral Home of Commerce. Visitation is from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 5, at the First Baptist Church in Commerce.

Daryle was born August 28, 1942, in Wolfe City to Sanford L. Belcher and Elsie McKay Belcher. He married Patricia Haddock on November 2, 1959, in Hunt County. Daryle retired from Commerce Automatic Gas Company on July 14, 2006, after 24 years of service. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce, the Adult IV Sunday School Class, and the Commerce Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife Patricia of Commerce; his son David and daughter-in-law Lisa Belcher of Cooper; granddaughters Brittany Belcher of Forney, Michelle and Megan Belcher of Cooper; brothers Sanford L. Belcher Jr. of Commerce, Grady Doyle Belcher and David Belcher of Denison; sisters Pauline Taylor of Mineola and Janice Taylor of Plano.

Daryle was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brothers Roy Lee Belcher of Lake Tawakoni, James Belcher of Wolfe City, and Richard Belcher, a World War II casuality.

Pallbearers are Hubert McKay, Harold Arrington, Sidney Stewart, Jack Stewart, Tom Scroggins, Second McQuart.

Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Caldwell, Don Young, and Carlos McKay.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Commerce.
