Billie Louise Johnson

Billie Louise Johnson, 78, of Commerce, passed away May 25, 2009, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

Born March 15, 1931, in Cumby, TX, she was the daughter of Trixie Lee Moseley and Jessie Houston Smithers.

She married Olen Johnson on May 5, 1972. She was self employed, taking care of children in her home.

She is survived by her husband, Olen Johnson; children: Johnny Burton of Commerce, Wanda Clampitt of Cumby, Harold Bowen of Gladewater, Peggy Gammons of Edgewood, Joyce Dixon of Commerce, Bryan Bowen of Commerce and Terry Johnson of Commerce; a foster daughter, Tonya Bowen of Collinsville; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; a sister, Bertha Lee O'Neal of Commerce; and a brother, Jesse Junior Smithers of Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother and 1 granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home with B.J. Smithers officiating. Burial will follow at Cumby City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Smithers, Roger Noble, Dennis Noble, Danny O'Neal, Gary Glossup, and Dewayne Glossup; honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons, Jesse Bowen, Cory Bowen, David Fyke, Joey Gammons, John Colfax, Mark Jackson, Jeremy Burton, Garrett Jackson, and Taylor Hale. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 27, 2009, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
