Angela "Angie" Celeste Cunningham Thomas, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, was born on October 20, 1972, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. It is with heavy hearts that we announce her passing on November 1, 2025, in Commerce, Texas, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Angie was a passionate Facilities Coordinator for East Texas A&M University Commerce, where her welcoming nature and diligent work ethic left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Known for being very loving and outgoing, she built connections that transcended the workplace, embodying the spirit of community.
Pursuing her education after high school, Angie embraced learning and carried her experiences into every aspect of her life. Her love for life was evident in her diverse interests; she was active in various churches throughout her life, showing her dedication to faith and community. Angie had a particular passion for photography, capturing life's special moments, and was an enthusiastic follower of the British Royal Family. She also found joy in collecting autographs, a testament to her vibrant personality and love for personal connections.
Angie leaves behind a vibrant family who will deeply miss her bright spirit. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Donny Thomas; and her children: Victoria Thomas, known as Tori; Wesley Thomas; Bentley Thomas; and April Thomas, all from Commerce. Additionally, she is cherished by her daughter, Jennifer Sartin of Tioga; her granddaughter, Kaelynn Sartin; her grandson, Gabe Sartin; her sister, Danette Lovelady and husband Aaron from Sulphur Springs; and her brother, Isaiah Tadlock and wife Melissa of Bellville.
Angie was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Rose Dale Hall; her grandfather, Ben Cunningham; her grandfather, Kenneth Hall; her aunt, Joy Hart; and her grandmother, Jeraldine Cunningham. Their memories will continue to inspire and comfort her family as they navigate this profound loss.
A visitation will be held on November 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Jones - Walker & Son Funeral Home, located at 1209 Live Oak, Commerce, TX. Following that, a funeral service will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
As we say goodbye to Angie, we remember the love she shared, the laughter she brought into our lives, and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Her spirit will remain forever intertwined with the lives she touched and the memories she created.
